About MeI am not a notable person. Born in the southern state of Tamilnadu, India on 7th November, 1974 I did my schooling in the Hindu Senior Secondary School, Chennai. I learnt about Hinduism from my friends, which increased my quest for knowledge of Islam. My parents were brought up in a religious background. My mother happenned to be the daughter of an Islamic book publisher and got me a lot of books to read. I had great interest in reading the history of the Prophet's (May Allah's Peace be on them). Though I read a lot of them, I never put any of them in practice. Only in my Tenth standard (Age 16) I started offering regular prayers. In my first year at the College, my friendship with one Mr. Muhammad Javid strengthened. Though we studied together in the same school, we were not that close. I used to talk about the various aspects of Islam during the free periods (which we used to get very often), with my class mates. Seeing my interest, Javid who never used to talk during our discussions, told me about Sufism. Though he did not tell me what Sufism was all about, I got interested in it and inquired him more on it. During the summer holidays of my first year in college, Javid took me to his Sheikh. At the first instant the shiekh did not take my Bai'yath and asked me to come later. On April 11th 1993, he accepted me as his Mureedh. From then on, by Allah's grace I am learning and practicing sufism slowly. On my academic side, Insha Allah by June this year, I will be completing my Masters in Computer Applications. I am working as Media Analyst in Cognizant Technology Solutions, Chennai for the past four months.
